Adams Morgan tends to skew younger (college crowd is heavy on weekends) and more chaotic than U Street. If you want a neighborhood feel and people-watching on a walkable strip, Adams Morgan delivers. If you want quality music programming and a more intentional nightlife experience, U Street is the better bet. Many DC regulars do both in one night — they're a 15-minute walk apart.
