H Street NE has transformed over the past decade from an overlooked corridor into one of DC's most active bar and nightlife strips. It's less polished than U Street and more neighborhood-feeling than Adams Morgan, which gives it a character all its own. The H Street Streetcar (free to ride) runs the length of the strip and makes getting around easy.
H Street has no direct Metro stop — the closest is Union Station (Red Line), about a 15-minute walk. The free H Street Streetcar runs along the corridor until midnight most nights. Rideshare is the most practical option after midnight. Parking is available but fills up on weekend nights.
